Ruby’s passion is art, fashion, and everything pertaining to design. She was also a model in Chicago and produced fashion shows in Boston.

How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a Creative; I love creating fashion and art. I am a loving mom and spouse; a lover of nature; a lover of color, symbolism and elegance.
Is there any special location that best describes you?
I think a special location that would best describe me is a forest with a rushing river and an array of many flowers of color throughout it.
How would you describe your business?
My business is all about creating for others. I paint and embellish one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. I love to create items that make my clients feel good and stand out in a crowd.
How long have you been in business?
I have always had a business in the art world since my early 20's. Incorporating clothing and accessories started 5 years ago.
What inspired you to choose this career?
I had a career as a banker for over 20 years... what I do now is my life's dream.
Can you describe a typical day in your daily and busy life?
A typical day would consist of sorting through email and digital media, programing any photos for publishings for the day. Check my calendar for appointments or events for the day. I ensure I have any supplies to keep my project moving then I work on my projects, whether that be a gown, shoes, a headpiece or whatever I am doing for a client at the time. Time flies so the day can pass pretty quickly.
How would you like to inspire other women?
I really enjoy meeting other women who are going through the same rollercoaster as I am, women who want to start a business or need help in their job. I have made introductions to other women and organizations who may be a good fit for them. Having experience in the corporate world and being an entrepreneur I believe I can help a women in not making the same mistakes I did. I can share many lessons learned and I believe that women helping women is important and necessary. Being supportive, a good listener and a cheering squad is something I do and always happy to do.
what is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment outside of my daughter is that I am doing what I was destined to do. I came full circle of combining my love for fashion and art and now making beautiful pieces for my clients. I just love what I do!
What is your greatest fear?
Fear is something that happens to all of us even to those who say they have no fear. What is important is that we have the capacity of overcoming that fear. Sometimes those inner voices try to stop you in your tracks. Fear happens but I would urge everyone to understand that you just have to go past it, believe in yourself, stay on course, move forward. You got this!!!
Do you read? If so, what is your favorite book?
Most of what I read is Fashion related so lots of picture books. I will tell you what I like to watch... Downton Abbey, anything Jane Austin... loved the era and the clothing... I also enjoy documentaries of fashion icons, feel good movies & comedies.
